University Library Spearheads its 4th In-house Staff Development Program

The ISUE Library Staff held their 4th in-house development program on the topic “Enhancing Oral Communication Skills” on August 2, 2023, 9:00AM at the Reference Section of the University Library, Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela. The invited Resource Speaker is the esteemed and brilliant Ms. Maria Elena D. Dupa, University Board Secretary V of Quirino State University who excellently shared her knowledge and skills in oral communication to the ISUE Librarians. Witty as she is, the library staff enjoyed every moment during her lively discussion. As she concluded her talk, she articulated the importance of communication skills that propel librarians to a higher level of professionalism.
Dr. Betsie M. Dela Cruz, Director for Library Services gave her opening remarks while Ms. Monica D. Hernando, Serials Librarian served as the EMCEE/Facilitator for the said activity.

Reactivating BSP Collections

Students of Isabela State University Echague campus were so excited to educate themselves on financial literacy. This is to prepare themselves to be saving, budgeting and practically spending money for this Academic Year 2023-2024. Various reading materials from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas are currently available at the Serials Section of the University Library of Echague and its given free to all library users.

ISUE Librarians Conducts 3rd Professional Development Program

Advancing the skills, traits, and competencies of library staff that contribute to a good customer service and customer satisfaction is one of the goals of conducting this professional development program. Thus, the 3rd in-service professional development program with the topic “Customer Service” was conducted on July 17, 2023 at the Reference Section of the University Library, Echague campus.

The invited resource speaker was the able Dr. Marita Garcia Sanchez, former Vice President for Academic Affairs at La Sallette, Santiago City, Isabela. Dr. Sanchez pointed out that good customer service is a revenue generator. It provides clients with a comprehensive and cohesive experience that aligns with the purpose of an organization. In the context of the library, librarians are frontiers so they have to give the best service that their client’s need and deal with them appropriately to achieve customer satisfaction as she added.

Mrs. Aileen J. Lagmay, Technical Services Librarian gave a brief introduction of the Resource Speaker and served as the EMCEE/facilitator of the said event.
