ISUE Library Goes Live @ 107.9 ISU Radio FM
The Isabela State University of Echague library staff had a live radio broadcast as part of their Library Marketing and Promotion Program on May 16, 2023 at 9 o’clock in the morning. Through the assistance of 107.9 ISU Radio FM management headed by Dr. Lorelie B. Agcanas, Chair Department of Communications and Media Studies, the activity became successful.
Furthermore, through the assistance of Mr. Derick Camero, radio station announcer and operator of 107.9 ISU Radio FM, Dr. Juliet D. Villanueva and Mrs. Aileen J. Lagmay, College Librarians were able to successfully discuss matters regarding Libraries and Librarians’ role in the academic community. Dr. Villanueva stressed that there is a need to create public awareness of libraries and librarians’ role in the community to understand its value in the organization, to educate library users on the importance of reading materials and reading per se, and to change the traditional perceptions of people about libraries. She added that the services of libraries remain relevant even during the COVID-19 pandemic because of their initiative to create modes of communication for effective dissemination of information via social media platforms.
